I'm a sucker for Yauatcha any day of the week. Which is the reason why I force myself to stay in the office on my lunch- if I'm not lured into the super sized Topshop then I'm 'just happening' to stroll past Yauatcha and a bag of macaroons 'just happened' to look at me in a suggestive, come hither, you know you want to sort of glare. Well if it's ain't the macaroons than it's one of the delicious cakes. I know I'm having a crap day if the only thing to put a smile on my face is a macaroon.I usually get my favourites, so one Friday The Boy presented me with a bag of the latest flavours. How do the new ones rate compared to my usual? Fig Violet (purple) was sweet but had a nice faint taste of violet, Strawberry Tagada (pink) didn't quite have the fresh strawberry taste I was hoping for, Coconut Saffron (light yellow)gave me mixed feelings. One bite would be too sweet for me, but then I'd taste it again and liked the rich saffron taste. My pick of the bunch however was Apricot Ginger (orange). It was fresh, fruity with the occasional bite of stem ginger. A perfect combination.

It's a deal. I'll bring some the next time. Give me a shout when you want to go for a meal. I find a late lunch is the best way to secure a table with no time limit hassle.

They do have the same texture to them but rather than the usual vanilla, pistachio, coffee that you get in France, the combinations at Yauatcha definitely have an Asian twist to them.

I really wanted to say a HUGE thanks for that lovely and thoughtful EBBP package you sent. It made me laugh and almost cry!
Laugh because of the bit in your card about the "old lady" chocs and almost cry because I was so touched that you took the time to put the perfect chocolate package together. I'm sending you a huge virtual hug for this. It means a lot. Oh and one other reason I almost wanted to cry - after our vacation I decided to cut back on sweets a bit (my jeans have started to tweak a bit) but it's gonna be tough with that parcel ;-).

Believe me- not buying these everyday makes me feel as if I have the tiniest amount of will power (I actually have none!). I'm determined to make a home version. I'll keep you posted.
